Pilchuck to Honor Artist Klaus Moje

On May 14, Pilchuck Glass School will present Klaus Moje with its Libenský | Brychtová Award for extraordinary contributions to the field of contemporary glass. The award will be presented at the event, "Pilchuck Celebrates," held at the Chihuly Garden and Glass glass house. An internationally renowned studio glass pioneer working with kilnformed glass, Moje is the founding director of the glass workshop at the Canberra School of Art. He will travel to Seattle from his home in Australia to accept the award. Previous recipients of the award, conceived in 1996 as the Libenský Award, include Pilchuck Glass School founder, Dale Chihuly, 1996; Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová, for whom the award is named, 2002; and most recently, Seattle-based artist, Paul Marioni, 2009. Tickets to Pilchuck Celebrates are $100.
