In Memoriam - Mickey Mandel
It is with much sorrow that we announce the passing of our AACG past president, Mickey Mandel. Mickey passed away peacefully after a long illness on Monday, February 11, with his family at his side. He was 78.
The funeral will be on Thursday, February 14, at 10:30 a.m. at Hebrew Educational Alliance, 3600 S. Ivanhoe St., Denver, Colorado.
Mickey served as AACG president from 2007 to 2009. He was married to the love of his life, Donna, for 57 years. He and Donna have been active members of AACG for many, many years, and they weremade members of the AACG Fellows Circle in 2018 for their support of and contributions to AACG and in promoting contemporary glass art to the general public. They are founding AACG Visionary members, and during his presidency, Mickey made the Visionary program the success it is today. He and Donna previously also served on the AACG board and advisory council.
Mickey will be remembered for his intense kindness and caring nature. He had a gift of making everybody feel welcomed and loved. He will be greatly missed.
