Art + Design New York Replaces SOFA NY
The inaugural Art + Design New York will showcase the best in three-dimensional art and design including ceramics, wood, textiles, glass, sculpture, as well as contemporary painting and photography. The show will debut at 82 Mercer Street in SOHO, May 8-11, 2014.
"We are very excited to debut in New York with a strong roster of leading contemporary art and design galleries," says Donna Davies, the fair's director. Davies also helms Sculpture Objects Functional Art and Design Fair: SOFA CHICAGO and previously produced SOFA NEW YORK. SOFA CHICAGO and Art+Design New York are produced by Urban Expositions.
While Art+Design New York will present similar materials and galleries as seen at SOFA CHICAGO, Davies emphasizes that this new fair will expand the range of disciplines in an exciting juxtaposition of multiple media and genres. "With Frieze New York as an anchor in the month of May, it's a great time for galleries and collectors to be in New York and we look forward to being part of this exciting week in New York."
