AACG Virtual Resource Library
AACG IS YOUR ONLINE RESOURCE FOR GLASS ART!
The AACG Resource Library provides a virtual space to share information on the ever-changing field of glass art. Through conversations with curators, artists, museum directors, gallerists, collectors, and more, you will be able to access all parts of the art ecosystem from your computer at home. We have a full range of Zoom programs that span a wide variety of topics including: gallery exhibition tours, curator-led museum exhibition tours, artist talks, tours of private collections, art and climate change, community programming information, specialized information on collecting and the market, and more. AACG is your online resource for glass art. Keep reading below to see the range of Zoom programs we offer on glass art and collecting.
FIRED UP!
Every first Friday of the month (except holidays), AACG offers virtual programming on Zoom that is free and open to the public. We are committed to community outreach and education, and continue to provide a means for educational outreach through our free FIRED UP! series. Each episode of FIRED UP! spotlights an artist working in glass. We cover a wide range of techniques, with artists ranging from iconic masters in glass to those pushing innovation in the next generation. Q & A is always available at the end of each program, so you can have direct interaction with the artist.
While our FIRED UP! program is on First Fridays, we also host programs on all other Fridays in the month. These are for our members only, and after they air live, we archive these into an online library for our members, to be accessed at any time. If you like our FIRED UP! programs and want to unlock access to more of our online programs, our AACG members-only page gives you access to all of our virtual programming throughout the month - Meet Ups, Community Arts Features, and our Unscripted Series. It also gives you access to hundreds of archived videos from these programs, as well as access to pdfs of all AACG print newsletters. Members can log in and enjoy. Not a member yet? Read about our programs below and join AACG now to start enjoying our library of virtual programming.
MEETUPS
While First Fridays provide free virtual programming, all other Fridays of the month provide programming exclusively for AACG members, covering a broader range of topics in glass. We call this our Friday MeetUp Series. View curator-led exhibition tours, panel discussions on the latest topics in glass, programs on collecting, and more. It's a great way to connect with our other members and see what is going on around the globe in the glass arts. Q & A is always a part of each program, so you can have direct interaction with our presenters. We have a few series that recur on a regular basis in our MeetUp programming; you can read about them below.
COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT
A few times a year, we spotlight a community organization or individual working with glass on this series in our MeetUp programming. These programs highlight the many ways that glass connects and heals - connecting communities of diverse backgrounds, creating safe havens for underserved communities, and offering new pathways for those who don't fit into the educational system's typical mold.
UNSCRIPTED
Every quarter, our MeetUp programming features a series called Unscripted - our version of a Book Club - with editor Andrew Page from Glass magazine. We take a quick virtual look at the latest quarterly issue and choose one article to delve into and discuss with the featured guests and, later in the hour, with the audience. Join us just to listen or to participate. It is a dynamic hour on the latest in the headlines on glass art.
