Intermezzo Murano combines exceptional modern glass objects from the collection of the Neue Sammlung - The Design Museum with historical masterpieces from the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum. The juxtaposition illuminates two highly innovative eras. In the 17th century, engraving and cutting revolutionized the art of glass. The 30 Murano glasses based on designs by Carlo Scarpa to Ettore Sottsass, are created with hot glass techniques and present abstract decorations in radiant colour combinations.
