In Memoriam - Mike Belkin

Myron "Mike" Belkin, one of AACG's founders, passed away on June 26, 2019, at age 83 of complications from Alzheimer's disease. He served as AACG president in 1992 and was made a member of the AACG Fellows Circle in 2015. He and his wife, Annie, were early collectors of Studio Glass art. He will be remembered by the AACG family as one of our pioneer collectors.

Mike was a legendary Cleveland-area concert promoter and music industry pioneer. After a career as a professional baseball player, Mike co-founded Belkin Productions with his brother, Jules, which booked and promoted concerts and managed artists. Mike introduced, nurtured, and promoted many of the most important artists and managers in the history of the music business, including The Who, David Bowie, Frankie Valli, Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Cream, The Doors, The James Gang, Bruce Springsteen, and more. The company was sold in 2001 to Live Nation.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by children Michael Belkin, Lisa Belkin and Sam Belkin; four grandchildren; and his brother, Jules Belkin.
