Slovakia has been an important focal point in contemporary glass creations ever since a department in glass arts opened in 1965 at the Bratislava Academy of Fine Arts. Including many prismatic sculptures made from optical glass in the 1970s to more current and diversified creations requiring several casting and fusing techniques, as well as blown or painted glass, the exhibition includes about 80 works of art.
