Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová are among the most important pioneers of modern glass sculpture. They developed molten glass into an independent artistic form of expression, established modern Czech glass art, and inspired artists worldwide. For the two artists, glass becomes the support for inner space—it is color in space. Subtle color transitions, air bubbles, inclusions and negative modeling achieve optical depth. Light and space form the center of their creative work.
