In Memoriam - Jack Benaroya
Jack Benaroya of Seattle, Washington, passed away May 11 at the age of 90. A collector of contemporary glass art with his wife, Becky, a long-time supporter of the Pilchuck Glass School and an advisory board member, Jack was a major philanthropist after making his fortune in real estate in the Northwest. The Seattle symphony hall bears the Benaroya name after the couple gave a significant seed contribution for a new concert hall. In addition to his wife of 70 years, Jack is survived by three children, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
