Matthew Curtis is riding atop the crest of Australian wave of creative breakthroughs.

He uses unorthodox glass blowing techniques to simulate the complex repetitive patterns of nature.

He has impressively conquered scale for blown glass with his innovative techniques.

The deYoung Museum accepted a collector donation of Matthew’s Carapace Series.

We are also proud of his constructed bowl series as well as his first
internationally acclaimed grid vessel series.

It is refreshing to discern the common aesthetic thread that unifies three seeming  disparate bodies of work.
