Rik Allen Creates Star Trek’s Starship Enterprise in Glass

Artist Rik Allen was commissioned by Eugene (Rod) Roddenberry, son of Gene Roddenbery, the creator of the 1960's television show Star Trek, to make a replica of the Starship Enterprise. The piece reflects the basic design of the original Enterprise, but also incorporates Allen’s personality into the sculpture. The stand for the piece is in the shape of the insignia from the Enterprise crew's uniform. Click here to read the full story in the Glass Quarterly Blog.
