AACG Dallas Trip May 16-20

The AACG’s very exciting 2012 member trip will be to Dallas, Texas, from Wednesday, May 16 to Sunday, May 20.  Spaces are filling up quickly, and the registration deadline is April 1. To ensure your space on the trip, register today!

Glass lovers will enjoy every minute of our plans. The trip will begin Wednesday late afternoon with a reception (heavy on the appetizers), then on to the Dallas Arboretum to view the extensive outdoor Chihuly show on the Arboretum’s beautiful 60 acres. The show will be spectacular seen at night. Other activities planned are visits to some wonderful glass collections; visits to premiere contemporary art collections; museum visits that include the Nasher Sculpture Center (the Guggenheim in NY vied for the collection, but Dallas got this wonderful museum designed by Renzo Piano); Dallas Museum of Art; the Kimball Museum and Museum of Modern Art in Fort Worth; and the 6th Floor Museum that chronicles President John F. Kennedy’s life, death and legacy. We also will have a very special VIP tour of Cowboys Stadium where we will not only see the locker rooms, press booth, private suites and more, but also the stadium’s very extensive art collection. And ladies, we will be treated to a show of contemporary glass jewelry at our member gallery Kittrell-Riffkind. We will have some special dinners including one evening at Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty restaurant where you will be 560 feet high in a rotating restaurant with great 360 degree views; Lonesome Dove Western Bistro in the Fort Worth stockyards, owned by celebrity chef Tim Love, and equally yummy lunches. You will have one dinner on your own to choose from among Dallas finest restaurants, many within walking distance of our hotel or a short cab ride away.

Our hotel is the Rosewood Hotel Crescent, voted Top 100 in the World and Top 9 U.S. Hotel in Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2011. We have arranged a rate of $185 per night for a superior room. A deluxe room, which is slightly larger than the superior room, is $205. If you want a suite, the Metro Suite is offered at $375 per night. (Taxes will be approximately 13%). To make your reservations, call 1-800-654-6541. It is important each guest contacts the hotel no later than Wednesday, April 25. You must identify yourself as being with the Art Alliance for Contemporary Glass group.  Any requests for special room arrangements must be made at the time of this call.

$775 per person ($1,550 per couple) which includes a $200 donation per person to AACG

Event Registration Info:

Register for the Dallas trip online or if you with to register by mail, click here for a registration form you can print out and mail in. The trip will be limited to 80 people on a first come, first serve basis. 

Cancellation Policy:

AACG refund policy

In the event of cancellation:
a. If the trip/tour is oversubscribed and your place is filled, the amount you pay will be fully refundable.
b. If the trip/tour is not oversubscribed (or if your cancellation comes too late for anyone to replace you), your payment will be refunded less any amounts expended on your behalf and not recoverable by AACG.
c. On those trips that include a contribution to AACG in the cost, if you cancel less than one month from the trip start date, AACG will retain the contribution plus expenses not recoverable by AACG.
